Ages 6-14 Months: Babies learn to swim face down briefly and then turn over and float independently

Survival

Our students practice these skills and can accomplish them, even fully clothed!

Ages 15 months and up: Students learn to swim face down, turn over and float independently, and go back to a face down swim. Lake Mary

Remember:
No child should ever be considered drown-proof, regardless of skills attained.

Once independent swimming and floating are learned, skill maintenance lessons for your child are imperative!

A maintenance schedule is recommended to preserve and strengthen skills as your child grows.  Toys, games and parent interaction are incorporated in these lessons.

Ages 3-5 years: Once swimming and floating skills are learned, students can begin to learn the basics of the four competitive strokes while still focusing on the breathing patterns from initial lessons.  Games and fun swim drills will be incorporated into lessons to enhance your child's ability to swim for safety, fun and fitness. Students can learn the basics of all four competitive strokes

Ages 5 and up: Students can learn the basics of all four competitive strokes and the elementary backstroke.  Snorkeling, drills and games will prepare your child for a lifetime of swimming for fitness, FUN or novice swim team preparation when desired.
