Alison grew up in Whitehall, Pennsylvania, where her family spent summers swimming in their pool and at the beach. Her parents enrolled her in swimming lessons for several years. She developed a greater passion for water safety from being caught in an ocean rip current.
After graduating with degrees in business administration and nursing, Alison worked as a registered nurse in cardiac, critical care, and post-op units. One of her most memorable patients was a pediatric drowning victim who survived.
Alison is married with two children. She was a Swim Life parent before becoming an instructor. Alison joined the Swim Life team to give other families the same opportunity and peace of mind that Swim Life gave her.
