Swim Life instructor training:
Accredited by Florida Dept. of Health
4 days-a-week, 4 hours-a-day of hands-on, in-water training for 5 weeks
Curriculum covering best practices for teaching water safety and aquatic skills to children, including:
Behavioral training techniques to effectively teach aquatic survival skills
Teaching strategies and critical lesson progressions for various age groups and skill levels
Anatomy and Physiology as they relate to lesson safety, breath holding and respiration, hydrodynamics, propulsion and posture, floating, buoyancy and balance
Safety guidelines to ensure the well-being of each student
Medical conditions affecting lessons
Troubleshooting in-water student challenges
Parent interaction and parent education relating to water safety, skill acquisition, and skill maintenance
Swim Life’s student registration system and how to utilize collected registration information

Although each Swim Life instructor is an independent contractor, Swim Life instructors have the benefit of full support from a company with a stellar reputation in every market we serve, thousands of hours of research and development in the water, and 40+ years of business development experience.
We have a proactive approach to career development, and support systems in place to guide you through each milestone in your Swim Life journey. From teaching your first lesson, receiving real-time lesson feedback when needed, continuing your education, increasing your knowledge base as you gain more experience, or becoming a mentor of other instructors and continuing your training to become a Swim Life Certification Specialist — for those who are committed and have the desire to learn, there is no limit to what you’re able to achieve.
