Based in Independence, Kentucky, Lauren Cagle Holcomb is a dedicated mother of four, a passionate water safety advocate, and a certified Swim Life instructor. Raised in a family that owned a commercial pool company, Lauren grew up with a deep respect for the water and an understanding of basic water safety. However, it wasn’t until the tragic drowning of a close family friend’s 3-year-old little boy, Asher Puntillo, that she became fully aware of the hidden dangers—particularly the false sense of security that flotation devices can give young children.

Motivated by Asher’s story, Lauren began using her personal social media platforms to raise awareness about drowning prevention and the importance of proper swim instruction. Her advocacy work became a personal mission: to help prevent similar tragedies and educate other families in her community.

When her youngest son began taking Swim Life lessons, Lauren felt a powerful calling to do more. Inspired by the life-saving skills her own child was learning, she decided to become a certified instructor herself. She now provides Swim Life's high-quality, survival-based swim instruction designed to build children’s confidence in the water while preparing them for real-life aquatic emergencies.

Lauren completed her Swim Life survival swim certification in 2023 and now offers a full range of Swim Life lessons (survival through stroke development) to families in the tri-state area: Northern Kentucky, Cincinnati’s West Side, and southeast Indiana. Lauren is also the instructor for a local non profit, Running Free with Chase, that funds scholarships for Swim Life lessons in their local community. 

In addition to teaching the Swim Life methodology, she enjoys life as a stay-at-home mom to her toddler and stays active in her children’s sports lives—as a proud hockey, baseball, and basketball mom.Lauren's notable certifications and accomplishments are:
